What Activities Can Help Strengthen Child's Feet?

.) Barefoot Walking: Going for regular walks without shoes can help strengthen the muscles in the feet. Barefoot walking is an activity that can greatly benefit the feet by helping to increase strength and mobility. Going for regular walks without shoes can help strengthen the muscles in the feet as well as improve proprioception or the awareness of how the feet are positioned in space. In this article a true barefoot walking was meant, but why not putting on our barefoot shoes and sneakers?

.) Exercise - specifically Calf Raises: Simple exercises such as calf raises help strengthen the calf muscles, which in turn helps to strengthen the feet.

.) Foot-Strengthening Exercises: Exercises such as picking up small objects with the toes and spreading the toes apart can also help to increase foot strength.

.) Swimming is also a great full-body exercise that can help to increase strength and mobility in the feet. Swimming not only helps you stay fit and healthy, but it also gives the feet a good workout while taking the weight off of them.

.) Yoga is another activity that can help strengthen the feet while improving flexibility. Yoga poses that focus on the feet can help increase strength and improve balance. Examples of such poses include mountain pose, tree pose and cat-cow pose. Overall, barefoot walking, calf raises, foot-strengthening exercises, swimming and yoga poses can all help to strengthen and improve the strength and mobility of the feet. Taking part in these activities a few times a week can result in stronger, healthier feet.
